THE STORY BEHIND THE SNAP

Will This Kill Me? came from the often scientific, regularly silly mind of Amy Yackowski — founder and resident idea factory curator of The Curaosity Collective.

Why it exists

The idea started years ago as a personal desire: to be able to tell what was safe versus what was a little bit serious. Snakes. Bugs. Plants. And otherwise.

And since I can't take life too seriously — I mean, what's the fun in that? — I decided to build the app and expand it to include both the serious and the not-so-serious.

What that turned into

A little bit of philosophical, mythical, and symbolic meaning, plus a few made-up quotes along the way. The goal is to blend the humor of navigating this often amazing and sometimes tricky environment — and humanity — with the very real things that can actually kill you.

Part scientific, part satire

Every scan gives you an identification, a risk verdict, what to avoid, and what to do if things go sideways. Then it gives you the weird history, the cheeky roast, and the symbolic reading — because curiosity deserves both halves.

It is still, always, for entertainment and informational purposes only. Snap at your own risk.
